Strategic engagement in IATA Financial Exchange
Therefore, Airpas officially announces its strategic engagement in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Financial Exchange, an industry initiative to maximize electronic information transmission from all airline direct operating cost (DOC) suppliers. With more than 11 years of profound EDI competence in the market, Airpas Aviation is actively engaged in the initiative to provide its 30+customers with an efficient EDI invoicing process from a worldwide DOC supplier basis, as well as to secure a high quality standard for electronic DOC supplier invoices.
IATA e-Invoicing Solution Facts:
In 2013, IATA launched the IATA Financial Exchange Mobilization Initiative with the aim of increasing the percentage of electronic invoices in the aviation industry. Based on the existing IATA SIS solution, which so far was mainly used for interlining billing and settlement, the initiative is aiming to make the platform more widely available and support the processing of supplier-to-airline invoices for DOC (e.g., for Airport Fees, Handling Fees, ATC Charges, Catering, Crew and Fuel).
The following key points and benefits summarize the new IATA electronic invoicing solution:
- Pre-validation of supplier invoices for direct operating cost (DOC) on the existing SIS solution
- One channel for electronic invoices in the aviation market (one participating supplier can provide all 400+ SIS member airlines with EDI invoices)
- One standard electronic invoice format (IS-XML)
- Fast and secure invoice settlement by IATA Clearing House (ICH) is also available as an option
- Legally and fiscally compliant exchange of paperless invoices
“As all Airpas Aviation customers already import and process EDI invoices through the airpas system, the IATA electronic invoicing team welcomes the commitment of Airpas to constantly increase the number of EDI suppliers in the aviation industry” said Bruno Roussel, Manager, Financial Exchange Mobilization and Standards, IATA.
“Airpas Aviation strongly supports the IATA Financial Exchange initiative. Airlines will soon benefit from our mutual approach towards maximizing the volume of electronic invoices. Process improvement and cost savings are our core mission for the aviation industry”, said Dr. Susanne Bellin, Director Customer Service at Airpas Aviation.
